Launching Easter 2027
Tight Lynes:
the Rodcast
Hosted by Pat Lynes
Reel Talk with founders, influencers and personalities, on the water.
Big conversations. Bigger water. No studio, no green room, no phones. Just a line in the water and the lessons people only share once they've properly opened up.
002The Rodcast
A podcast with a rod in hand.
Think Diary of a CEO or Joe Rogan, but on the water. Long, honest conversations with founders, influencers and personalities who've lived a bit and have lessons worth sharing.
There's something about a boat. No stage, no green room, no phones. Just a line in the water, a few hours to fill and the kind of conversation people don't have in a studio.

003Why Tight Lynes
With a surname like mine, what else was I going to call it?
I'm an avid fisherman, and my name is Pat Lynes. When it came to naming a show about life, business and the water, the name was already sitting in my tackle box. I couldn't pass it up. Tight Lynes was born.
It's more than a pun, though. Every angler knows tension is the whole game. Too slack and the fish swims off. Too tight and the line goes. The skill is in the middle: enough pressure to stay connected, enough give to let it run.
Business works the same way, and so does life. That's what we talk about.
004The show
Three parts. One day on the water.

01
Reel Talk
The main conversation. Every episode opens here
Every episode opens as Reel Talk with… and the guest's name. It's the main conversation: how they built it, what it cost them and what they'd do differently, told slowly, with a line in the water.
-
02
The One That Got Away
Their biggest miss
Every guest brings the one that slipped the hook: the deal, the decision or the moment. What happened, what it taught them, and why they'd still cast again.

03
Tight Lines
Rapid-fire to finish
Quick questions, no overthinking. Best advice, worst purchase, first fish, last book. River or sea? Then we head back to the harbour.
005The host
Pat Lynes swapped boardrooms for boats.
I've been a founder for 25 years. I built businesses, including Sullivan & Stanley, which I founded and chair, and for a long time I gave them everything. Eventually, it cost me. I hit burnout.
A visit to Necker Island was the turning point. I came home and made a choice: to become self-sovereign and financially free, and to build my life around what matters. So I moved my family to Portugal and got back on the water, where I've always done my best thinking.
From there came Reel Lucky and Reel Founders, a private club for founders on their next chapter. And now, Tight Lynes.
I want to bring something fresh to the market: honest, hard-won life lessons from people who've done it. For aspiring entrepreneurs. For anglers. And for our children, growing up, so they can learn from the wins and the mistakes of the best without having to make every one themselves.
These are the conversations I keep having on the boat. From Easter 2027, the mics are on.

We're looking for founders, influencers and personalities with hard-won lessons to share: the wins, the near misses and the ones that got away. Fishing experience is optional.
